This is the first post in my new series: Conversations with Friends — where I’ll be sharing the real, unfiltered, soul deep chats straight from my circle to yours.
sometimes the guilt of showing our emotions is real! Almost like an emotional hungover... but I think we've been conditioned to think that only positive reactions are ok. Let's normalize being ok with showing all sides of us (in a non-toxic way though)...lol
Let’s normalise what it is to be human — to feel, to voice and to own every single piece of the masterpiece that is us. Thanks for your comment Jess, appreciate you ❤️🔥
As a chronic apologizer I- well I won't finish that sentence lol. I've been trying to work on not having to apologize for existing, but it's ingrained in me so deeply. Still, I'm learning. Thanks for the post.
Recovering apologiser, WELCOME and THANK YOU so much for your comment ❤️
Oh, I get it with my whole heart — and you know, that healing process, the whole unlearning, is a constant battle. Between what you KNOW to be true and what you’ve learned, we all have our own stuff wrapped differently. The key is that you are learning, growing and (hopefully) being mega compassionate when you don’t always get it right.
I bet it also makes you super empathic and kind too right? ❤️
Right?! I’m so glad it resonated — they sure are, sneaking up announced with a swift little gut punch to tell you that they are very much still here 😏❤️
Jo I FREAKING LOVE THIS!!! thank you - my goddess - you nailed it with that
Ah Peace I’m so glad it hit home with you and thank you so much for your comment, it truly it means the world 🧡

Thank you beautiful 🫶 I do try to be, we all need friends who give us some gut punching truth sometimes don’t we 🤷♀️🧡

Loved this as an opening to the series. That reminder about not needing to perform or over-explain really landed. Excited to keep reading these.
Ah thanks so much for the comment — I was testing the waters with this one and I think the temperatures just fine ☺️

To me, apologising for an hour was a form of "losing her shit" too. 🥰
You know, you’re not wrong there Deb ❤️
Oh yes the sure fucking are.
